Complaints about Facebook page

by marianne.gutierrez on January 8, 2010

Just an update on what I have done so far.

I have complained to Facebook, to their abuse email address, with all the relevant links; they responded with another email asking for more information.  I emailed back.  They have not responded to that email.

I have rung the Police.  The policewoman was shocked and said she had heard about these Shag Bands but didn’t realise the implications.  She said there wasn’t a police department to deal with this.  She gave me the name of the Internet Watch Foundation.

I got the Internet Watch Foundation webpage and completed their web form.  I completed it 3 times, as the first time it wasn’t accepted.  The next two times it was.  I heard nothing.

I rang Crime Stoppers who said they do not record any information and were a charity and basically couldn’t help.

I called Child Line but she could only refer me to a Counsellor and as the line was busy I stopped the call as I didn’t want to take that time away from a child ringing in.

I went back to the Internet Watch Foundation webpage and rang the only telephone number I could find which was to the Media Dept.  She was helpful and said she couldn’t find my web form email, so I said I’d write another.

I then had some of my other work to do.  When I came back to this issue and went to write out on the web form my complaint again, I decided against this and used the media email address. This was because my web form sent twice hadn’t generated any emails so why would it a third time.

I will keep this website posted of any future events pertaining to this terrible disgusting venture of the people who encourage children in this aspect.

Here are some other articles I have written with links to two Daily Mail articles, one reporting on what Shag Bands are and their connotations and another reporting on Facebook signing up to the Government Code of Safety to Protect Children: Complaint to Facebook and Do you know what Shag Bands are?
