Having been in receipt of quite a few emails about CFS/ME Organisations and Petitions I thought: ‘I don’t want to know.’ ’I am not interested.’ I am so fed up of hearing about how the Government are not listening and not caring about those with CFS/ME. I think to myself, what about all the other people with other health problems not being listened to?

I wondered at my attitude. ’That’s a bad attitude.’ I said to myself. ‘These organisations work so hard for people, you are not being fair.’ I told myself.

Yesterday I looked around the table at all my sisters. ”Why am I different? I thought.

I had always been ill, despite me fighting against it , ignoring how I was feeling and telling myself I was the same as everyone else. As a child I didn’t know I was in pain and my Mother didn’t understand, she and my sisters just thought I was moaning, miserable and unhappy.

I thought I was moaning, miserable and unhappy. Until I was diagnosed with food allergies and then I wasn’t moaning, miserable or unhappy any more as long as I didn’t eat my personal allergens.

I looked at my sisters again all with a condition or two controlled by medications, not to mention my brothers who weren’t there at the time of my musings.

However I am the only one of all of them who avoids many foods, they do not. I began my CFS/ME journey from a very early age unbeknown to me. My other sisters began their personal ill-health journeys much later on in their lives.

The last email I have received so far this morning is from Natural News almost echoing my thoughts of this morning and yesterday and so prompting this post.

The Natural News post is about how we make our own ill-health and how we can make ourselves well naturally, and our way.

The trouble with ill-health is that the Governments have taken control of it. We are brain-washed into thinking that we HAVE to go to the GP and we HAVE to do what our GP tells us. It has been set as the default mandatory button in our heads. We think: ‘I feel ill.’ We immediately press the NHS medication button.

I am cured from CFS/ME and sometimes I can cope with eating a little of my personal allergens. So why are so many people still suffering with CFS/ME? Why are people bed-bound with it? Why were they walking and talking one day and got CFS/ME the next?

I think the main reason some people remain ill is because they go to their GP and rely on the NHS for a cure, for wellness. And that is what the CFS/ME organisations are doing. They are hoping for a cure from the Government. And that cure will come in the form of medication.

Medication which is what GPs offer will never cure. It will only at best put a (dangerous) lid on the symptoms. Squash symptoms with one type of medication and up will come a whole host more of other symptoms. There are three types of medication that are great in the short term – painkillers, antibiotics and cancer drugs. They should be a short, sharp, shock method to kill things and then Good Food should be adopted for the long term.

I do not doubt I am a type to get CFS/ME and food allergies. I am sure I was born like it. I am sure that I was born like it because my mother ate margarine, gluten loaded bread, food with additives and terrible synthetic chemicals were being discovered and used and thought wonderful, and she went through a pile of stress during her formative years, and everyone in those days thought smoking was OK.

In other words my health and I are a product of Government policies.

However I do not have to take anymore of their attitude. This world and the governments are not about Care. They are about ‘How can we make money out of being seen to Care?’

So do not look to the Government for help. Look to yourselves. Eat Good Food. Avoid allergens. Supplement calcium and magnesium because they are not naturally present in rich enough amounts in our drinking water and should be.

Haiti needs it all. It needs us to donate money. It needs workers to help. It needs those who run transport systems to provide.

And Haiti needs prayer.

“Lord Jesus Christ, Our Father in Heaven, take to Paradise all those who have died in Haiti.

Bless the Orphans with families who will only ever be good, kind and loving.

Find every lost child and restore them to their families.

Restore peace and harmony to every person on Haiti and provide them with the Will to help and share and love their fellow man, not to loot, fight and take.

Please continue to encourage those who can to donate money for Haiti.

Please continue to encourage those who can help to get there.

Please continue to encourage those who have transport to provide it generously.

Please provide everything the hospital needs to be able to help those who are in pain.

Allow Haiti to become Your Miracle Island with no more poverty, with Your Love abounding in every person living there.

Lord I pray this in Your Name which is Wonderful Counsellor.”

Who is Scott Solder?

Here is something about him: Scott Solder

But do we really need another Self-Help Book? That is what BBC Breakfast was asking Scott this morning.

What hit my brain as I heard the BBC report is: Why do people need someone to tell them what to do and how to live their lives?

And of-course The Self-Help Book is about people empowering themselves hence the title Self-Help.

But naturally that is an oxymoron of sorts because the book becomes the voice telling them what to do, which brings me back to my original question: Why do people need someone to tell them what to do and how to live their lives?

I suppose I should read the book to get the point but I probably won’t. Sorry Scott I know you have worked hard on it.

It is just that when I left a very controlling rule bounded with huge sanctions if I disobeyed religion I wanted to work it out for myself. Which is what I did.

Someone said to me: Why don’t you work out your own rules?

So I did.

I came up with the 10 Commandments! I think that most of us would agree wholeheartedly with 9 of them, and then struggle to understand the first one.

The first one: To love the Lord Your God with your whole heart and soul and mind and have no other gods than God.

I think this means: To love GOOD, to only concentrate on that which is GOOD and not to allow anything else destroy that.

What are other gods? The love of anything to such an extent it takes away your focus on what GOOD is all about.

What is GOOD? Everything that God is about.

I translate it this way because it makes sense to me. God equates with perfect GOOD in my mind, as the epitome of GOOD.

Unfortunately Religions have corrupted that concept and made more rules with sanctions if you disobey. Hence the idea of a revengeful God.

God is GOOD and LOVE and God does not apply sanctions when we get it wrong. He is Unconditional and still loves us despite our wrong-doings.

So this New Year, this New Millennium focus on the GOOD in yourself and how to project that in everything you do. If you need to know how to focus, read the Ten Commandments.

Happy Living and Happy New Year, it is going to be a great one!

The Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams’ speech today at the Armistice Day Service was nothing short of very good.

View the service here: 11 November 2009 Armistice Day

Like most people I am sick to my heart of witnessing man’s suffering whether from the effects of war or malnutrition or cruelty.

But those who cry, and I include myself until recently, about ending the war in Afghanistan are crying from a selfish view point.

I have to say I am horrified by yet more bodies of soldiers being brought home for burial. And I don’t want to see it anymore. But am I being selfish and not seeing the wider picture?

If we end the war what has the soldier’s vocation, commitment and suffering been for?

If our folk do not choose to fight, we won’t have a defence force.

If we don’t have a defence force, we will be at the mercy of any maniac’s (or non-maniac’s) regime.

The question should be not why are our soldiers fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan but what will happen if no-one does?

Our men and women fight to protect our security. If we don’t support them, where is our security? What is the point of having a defence system?

I do not know what it is like to be the mother of a child, or the wife or relative of a person who has gone to fight.

I am sure that all the families of men and women who have gone to fight are extremely proud of their loved ones and I think that we as a nation should be too. And that is what we should be thinking about when someone else dies because of the Taliban’s cruel regime.

FInd Madeleine

Child Rescue Alert

A new campaign with a video link showing what Maddy could look like now.

Please do not let this campaign go quiet, please use this link to advertise the campaign everywhere. Let’s flood the internet market, let Maddy herself see herself and find a way to speak to someone who will help her get back home. Let her use the Child Rescue Alert.

No child should go missing.

I live even now at my ripe old age with the fear I had when I was nearly kidnapped at the age of 6. I ran for my life, literally, and I still feel I am running now.

I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that wherever Maddy is, she feels safe although she is with a misguided family they are being kind to her. I pray that she hasn’t forgotten her parents and her brother and sister and is looking at ways to get back home. Maybe she is being told she will be home soon. Please Lord let it happen. Make Maddy sensible and strong, you made me strong to run, help Maddy find a good trustworthy someone to help her escape, just as you put a group of women chatting in the next road that put my pursuer off.

Lord protect our children I ask you on behalf of every single child, please hear and answer my prayer and bring all children safely home.

Thank you Lord. I know you answer prayers.

It is the Origins of Love we need to trace because when discovered we will all understand our human origins.

As Shakespeare wrote in Romeo and Juliet – what’s in a name?

He is right in that regard, a thing is a thing no matter what the name. So a rose will still smell as sweet if called by any other name. In the case of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet was perusing the fact that Romeo was from her family’s arch enemies and was trying to justify a relationship that her father could condone by reason of terminology.

One word that I think is always misunderstood is the word Religion.

Religion is taken to mean a belief in God and in some cases is equated as being one with the idea, the existence of a God or gods.

It does not entirely mean that.

The Oxford Dictionary Online definition of Religion is:

A Noun
1. The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.
2. A particular system of faith and worship.
3. A pursuit or interest followed with devotion.

ORIGIN
Originally in the sense life under monastic vows: from Latin religio ‘obligation, reverence’.

The pivotal aspect are the words: belief in and worship of …

Rules are devised because of the belief. So a Religion can be anything, any set of rules.

To put this in another context, most people believe in eating. But some advocates design a set of rules on how to eat. The Victorians with the number and type of knives and forks for each type of dish. The Modern day chefs on what to cook with what and how and why.

So Religions have been designed by man. It is my fervent belief that Religions have nothing whatsoever to do with God.

Just as the Victorians or Chefs have nothing to do with eating, they may design a method of cooking or what to use when eating, but when my brain tells my stomach to gurgle with hunger pangs, my hand will help itself to food and put it in my mouth with total disregard for certain types of knives and forks or chef’s cooking techniques.

Deep within each human being is a desire to know Who we are and Where we have come from. Hence Einstein and Darwin and all the other scientists and philosophers who make some sense but cannot entirely explain and answer those questions.

Religion is man’s design of a system of rules to control the ideas of Who we are and Where we have come from.

Hence:
The Chinese religion
The Jewish religion
The Hindu religion
The Muslim religion
The Christian religion
to name but a few.

Every tribe and every culture has a Religion that applies Rules that seem to suggest an idea of Who we are and Where we come from but in reality the Religion based on our own desire to know our beginnings were implemented by clever men who were bent on power and control of the masses.

Darwin was not the only man to apply detection to try and trace life’s beginnings. He was the first man to get his book The Orgin of Species published.

Science and Philosophy have gone a long way to ‘try’ and explain but in working it out for yourself, do not even ponder on Religions which only have their basis in human power struggles and control.

As Paul said in the bible ….. If there were no Rules there would be no wrong.

God gave the 10 Commandments as Best Practice not as a Rule. There were no punishments or sanctions if they were not followed.

If we lived in a world where there were no rules, there would then be no aspect to judge right or wrong; in the early days of human existence before too many rules were devised God provided the 10 aspects to guide us, if we wanted to accept them.

As you know, I do believe in God. In one God. Not because I have been indoctrinated. But because of what I saw as a child and because of life-experiences that confirmed my child-like thoughts.

I do not believe in any religion.

I believe my heart and mind thoughts are from God as are everyone’s but within each one of us is the ability to use good and evil to understand those thoughts. I select to use Good when I pray through Jesus Christ to understand.

I believe that Jesus Christ was God in human form come to show us love.

I believe when I accepted the love of God, perfectly illustrated in his Son, I recognised my thoughts and words as His.

Without love, the human race is nothing. We need to know love.

We all know love but do we all know where it comes from?

Do we know what love is? The greek had 5 words for love all meaning a different aspect. Love between husband and wife, love between friends, love between siblings, love to create children, and love of something outside ourselves.

It is the Origins of Love we need to trace because when discovered we will all understand our human origins.

I said to my husband last Sunday: ‘I think that when God told us in the commandments to keep the sabbath day holy that he meant to rest. Not to do anything just rest.’

During the week I listened to a tape by Roger Price (see my article Trapped Grief ) He mentioned a passage from the bible: Dueteronomy Chapter 5. It is the Ten Commandments.

The reason Roger mentions it in his tape is because he is drawing an inference made by a rich man who wanted to know about Jesus. (Mark {this takes you to the Online Bible and you can look the reference up for yourself} Chapter 10 verse 17) Jesus immediately recognised a very rich man, so much so that he wasn’t keeping one of the commandments where God tells us to honour our father and mother.

The pharisees had turned this commandment around and confused it. In the days of Moses it meant that the children had to look after their parents and give them a sum of money for their keep. (as well as respect them emotionally) This rich man so loved his money that he went along with the pharisees (who also loved the wealth and power of money) who said in a very complicated fashion that they didn’t have to give any of their money to their parents but give it to the pharisees instead.

So back Roger takes me to Dueteronomy. It interests me hugely. I realised that I hadn’t read the commandments from the bible before. I only knew them from the Vatican Catholic catechism. (The catholic rule book, which is basically a confused version of bible stuff)

This is what it says in my bible, The King James Revised Version. Dueteronomy Chapter 5 verse 12:
“Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you.
Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall not do any work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you.

And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord your God brought you out by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.”

The words in italics are not literal translation but added by the translators of the bible to infer understanding of the text.

So where did the idea of churches come from? The word church is mentioned in the New Testament and it comes from the greek word which means a group of people. It doesn’t mean a building where people gather to recite words from the bible in different fashions. The greek word which was translated to ‘church’ means a group of people.

So with this commandment God is asking us to rest on the Sabbath. And to remember that once there was no rest when they were slaves. So rest in the peace and the knowledge that God saves and God provides.

Over the years and the different political ruling systems, this idea of resting in the secure knowledge that God provides has been confused and corrupted and the people have been bullied by the powers that be to attend a building or God will be angry with you. To part with your money and give to the people who run the building or God will be angry with you.

It is all a corruption of what God really did say in His commandments that has got so twisted and diluted down the years that every single ‘church’ body or religion firmly believes that one should attend a building, recite the bible in some fashion and give money.

And some do it to such a degree that they go twice on a Sunday to this building. That they do not rest, they exhaust themselves and any time they could give to their children, to their spouses, to their loved ones, to their families is taken up with attending a building.

This is not what God meant. Read Dueteronomy Chap 5 for yourselves. It is all there in His bible, God’s word, His son Jesus Christ.

On our day of rest it is assumed that because we are Christians that we will ‘meet’ with like minded people and ‘pray’ together. The ‘like’ minded people could be your family or even simply one friend. ‘Pray’ together can mean ‘chatting’ to God. How long you spend meeting with the ‘like’ minded person and in ‘prayer’ is up to you remembering that you are meant to be resting and not causing frustration to other members of your family and friends.

A belief in God is not complicated and full of stifling, suffocating, inhibiting rules. A belief in God sets you free completely to live the life you are designed to live. It is so simple and freeing. Thank you God!
